Fresh off her European tour helping son Jaden promote his film The Karate Kid, Jada was back stateside looking amazing per usual! The actress was spotted walking around the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live prepping for an appearance no doubt to promote her show, Hawthorne.

Jada wore a mini white asymetrical dress paired with cut-out booties. Jada needs to be in mini-dresses always. Her legs are phenomenal. And one thing that I hav always loved about her is that as petite as she is, she can wear a gown with the tallest of them. Random, I know but she’s definitely one haute mom!

The Smith kids are slowly turning into the new it kids in Hollywood and apparently they have their eyes firmly set on the fashion world. According to their stylist, Mariel Haen, who is also responsible for Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad change, the duo plans to launch their own clothing line in the future.

“With Rihanna, pretty soon after she came on the scene, you started seeing designers from Forever 21 to Gucci coming out with styles mimicking her look.. We hope the same thing happens here, but I think the ultimate goal is for Willow and Jaden to have their own line.”

Mariel went on to tell Hollywoodlife.com that Willow is inspired by Rihanna’s style: 

“Willow is definitely inspired by Rihanna’s style. We make an effort to give her own style, so as not to be a mini-version of Rihanna, but Willow really knows what she likes and what she doesn’t like, and she’s vocal about it.”

It will definitely be interesting to see how Willow’s style translate into a clothing line. She’s a lot more comfortable with her personal sense of style than most 10 year olds. What do you think about the Smith kids clothing line?

When Janet Jackson joined notables such as Lena Horne, Naomi Campbell, Audrey Hepburn, Ray Charles & Sophia Loren as the face of Blackglama’s latest ad campaign, she also primed herself top of the list at PETA for people to go after.

Dan Matthews, Senior Vice President for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, sent a letter to Ms. Jackson in which he questioned the singer’s controversial decision to be the spokesperson for the fur company. “You and I spoke at length about the fur issue. You told me that you were always aggravated at photo shoots when stylists would try to throw fur on you and that you were even wary of wearing fake fur out of concern that it might actually be real or look real in photos and send the wrong message. You were very straightforward and sensible about it. What happened?”

It’s safe to say that Janet isn’t winning any fans over at the PETA offices but knowing that she has spoken out against the use of fur in the past, what do you make of her decision to take the job?

The internet has been a buzz since it was announced that Essence magazine hired a non-African American to fill their once vacant Fashion Director position. Elliana Placas, a fashion writer who has worked for O Magazine & Us Weekly, was chosen by Essence Editor-in-Chief Angela Burt Murray and that decision has led to very vocal backlash from Essence supporters as well as talks of protesting the magazine. Burt-Murray had remained tight lipped about ehr decision but she decided to release a statement defendin her decision:

“I understand that this issue has struck an emotional chord with our audience,” said Burt-Murray, “however I selected Ellianna, who has been contributing to the magazine on a freelance basis for the last six months, because of her creativity, vision, the positive reader response to her work and her enthusiasm and respect for the audience and our brand. We remain committed to celebrating the unique beauty and style of African-American women in Essence magazine and online at Essence.com.”

While I can understand both sides of the arguement, I choose to keep my opinion on the matter to myself. I do wonder what you guys think about it: is it a big deal that the new editor of one of the most well-known magazines for African-American women & their lifestyle is white? What are your feelings on this matter?

Jada Pinkett-Smith & her family have been busy overseas supporting son Jaden as The Karate Kid premieres all over Europe. The Smiths have hit Londo, Madrid, Germany & most recently Paris for each premiere.While I’m not sure when the family will be returning stateside, it has been fun watching Jada werk it on the red carpet. The petite actress showed off her amazing legs in each of her looks so far but which one has been the most fab?

For the UK premiere, Jada chose a one-shouldered Fall 2010 Stella McCartney dress covered in pailettes & paired with Brian Atwood platform pumps. While in Germany, she showed off her fablously toned legs in a shortsleeved dress with gold detailing paired with strappy heels. A hot pink mini dress with shoulder padding was her dress of choice for the Madrid premiere & for yesterday’s Paris premiere, Jada wore a knee-length off-the-shoulder black dress with a piar of black Christian Louboutin Clou Noeud platform heels.

I have my personal favorite: which one is yours?

I’ve noticed these shoes popping up on the feet of the fashionable for a few weeks now & they immediately caught my attention. Kim Kardashian wore hers to the wedding of LaalVazquez & Carmelo Anthony; Heidi Klum donned hers back in May to the release of her clothing line’s, Lavish by Heidi Klum, summer 2010 presentation & Jada Pinkett-Smith was spotted with them this past weekend in Paris at the premiere for her son Jaden’s film The Karate Kid.

The Christian Louboutin Clou Noeud pumps are studded, peep-toe sling-back heels with a bow [my favorite part] detail in the front. On Net-A-Porter, they retail for $1, 195. Steep price but they are Christian Louboutin’s. These shoes are the perfect statement shoe not only b/c of the amazing detail but because they can be paired with most anything from jeans to dresses. The studded detail give them an edge while the bow keeps it sweet. I’m a fan of these shoes; what do you think?

While her brother is overseas promoting his hit remake of The Karate Kid, Willow Smith has been playing the role of supportive little sister & showcasing her sense of style. The 9yr old has been catching the eyes of the fashion savvy folks & she seems to be headed in the direction of budding young fashionista. Jada Pinkett-Smith recently dished that Willow is currently working on an album so it’ll be interesting to continue to watch her style evolve as she supports her family & comes into her own spotlight.

Epanya created numerous fictional covers and editorials in the hopes of garnering a vote of yes by VOGUE but he took to his Facebook page to announce the decision saying   “Condé Nast said NO to an African license of VOGUE. So this is the last cover. Enjoy, but it’s a beginning of something.”

While I believe that there is a need for African Vogue, the rejection ultimately doesn’t come as much of a surprise to me. I believe that there will be a time when there’s going to be an African VOGUE & the campaign that Mario Epanya started has heightened awareness for the need of it. I look forward to one day flipping through the pages.

I guess it’s a testament to that fact that I either 1. Have a extremely awesome photographic memory that won’t quit or 2. Spend waaaay too much time in Target but the first thing I said when I spotted this picture of Lebron James & his girlfriend Savannah vacationing in the Bahamas recently was “she got that at Target!”. I was happy like I gave it to her or like I own Target.

Savannah is wearing this Xhilaration floral print & ruffled chalis dress from Target as a cover up for her swimsuit–cute idea. This dress is currently on sale at www.target.com for $15! STEAL! I always tell people to never overlook Target. It’s a great place to find staple pieces that you can intergrate into your everyday wardrobe–basic tees, tanks, shorts, etc & also you’re bound to find a cute piece like this. In this time in the midst of a recession when so many people look to celebs and their wives or girlfriends for trends, it’s refreshing to see that the girlfriend one of the wealthiest figures of our time can mix her diamonds with that bullseye!

And I probably do spend way too much time at Target but oh well!

Lanvin was Jennifer Lopez’s go to designer when she was overseas promoting her last movie, The Back-Up Plan. The star wore this black, one-shoulder dress from the Lanvin Spring 2010 collection to the UK premiere of the movie back in April while Rihanna donned the same dress to dinner & a studio session on Monday.

The differences: J.Lo glammed her look all the way up for the red carpet complete with an over-the-top, Barberella inspired hairstyle, Lanvin statement necklace & black platform pumps while Rhi-Rhi kept it simple opting for jewelry only by the way ofher earrings & nude pumps.

So who is the winner in this battle: Jenny from the Block or Little Miss Sunshine?
