Congrats are in order to our very own SKM Mo’nique for winning a golden guy (Oscar) for her Best Supporting Actress role in the movie Precious. Mo’nique is a mom to three children. Go girl!!!
Mo’nique is wearing blue and a gardenia in her hair as a tribute to Hattie McDaniel, who wore the same color and flower when she won an Oscar in 1940.
McDaniel was the first African-American to be nominated and win an Oscar for her role as “Mammy” in Gone With the Wind.
